We stand with people, from the margins to the centre, with projects that aim to guarantee everyone the right to a dignified future.

In Italy, our direct intervention focuses on promoting and protecting women's rights, combating gender-based violence and defending the rights of children and young people. Through our projects, we work with people on the margins of society, particularly in the suburbs of large cities, where economic and social inequalities limit access to opportunities and essential services.

We are committed to combating all forms of gender-based violence, recognising that change comes through building a culture of respect, autonomy and equality, starting with everyday relationships and educational contexts. With our WeWorld Women's Spaces - active in six Italian cities - we offer safe and welcoming places where women in situations of violence or vulnerability can regain self-confidence, rebuild relationships and autonomy.

For years, we have also been working in schools and neighbourhoods to combat educational poverty and early school leaving, guaranteeing girls and boys the right to a dignified future and equal opportunities for growth and learning.

In Liguria, in Ventimiglia, we have been present since 2016 with support interventions for migrants and asylum seekers in transit, to ensure respect for and protection of human rights along migration routes.

In addition, we promote awareness of global dynamics through global citizenship education programmes and encourage individuals and communities to play an active role in identifying new ways for civil society, particularly young people and new generations, to participate and influence issues of social and environmental justice, gender equality and human mobility.

We also offer the younger generations free training opportunities through the WeWorld Academy and practical experience in projects that often bring them into contact with their peers in other countries, allowing them to exchange ideas, learn about other communities and strengthen their active citizenship.

The conflict in Ukraine, which began in February 2022, saw us intervene immediately with humanitarian aid to help people forced to leave their homes in various parts of the country.

We operate in various regions of the country, including close to the eastern front, promoting educational activities and psychological support, raising awareness of the risks of mines and unexploded ordnance, providing economic support and housing reconstruction, distributing hygiene kits and repairing water and sanitation infrastructure, with a particular focus on menstrual justice and gender equality.

Until 2025, we also intervened in Moldova to offer support and shelter to refugees who had temporarily left Ukraine due to the conflict.
