Today's world presents us with increasingly complex and interconnected challenges. For this reason, our action is multisectoral and integrated, with the aim of responding to people's immediate needs and promoting lasting change. We have defined five Areas of Change from which our intervention is developed: Water and sanitation(WASH), Education, Gender, Food security, livelihoods and local economic development and Environment and climate.
We intervene to support populations affected by humanitarian emergencies or living in situations of protracted crisis, through the distribution of basic goods and the reconstruction of communities and infrastructure. Beyond the emergency, we are committed to creating the conditions for aid to be transformed into pathways of development and autonomy for local communities, reducing inequalities in Italy and around the world. Our strategy is based on three approaches: long-term development, humanitarian and emergency response, and the Nexus approach: humanitarian, development and peace.
We promote quality education to ensure that children and young people have equal opportunities to growth and flourish in the future.
We guarantee safe and sustainable access to drinking water and sanitation services to protect the health and dignity of communities.
We support the right to food by strengthening resilient food systems and access to adequate and sustainable nutrition.
We work for gender equality and self-determination, with a particular focus on the rights of women and girls, combating all forms of violence and discrimination.
