The WeWorld Women's Spaces – located in Milan (Giambellino and Corvetto), Bologna, Rome, Naples, Pescara and Cosenza – are places of listening and welcome, where an all-female staff, specialised and rooted in the local area, builds relationships of trust and accompanies women on paths that promote awareness, self-esteem, autonomy and decision-making skills. The aim is to strengthen self-determination as a tool to prevent and address gender-based violence in all its forms.
In these spaces, we offer completely free activities: psychophysical wellbeing programmes, cultural and creative workshops, career guidance, assistance in accessing local services and individual psychological support.
Located in suburban or marginalised neighbourhoods, WeWorld Women's Spaces are dynamic places that respond to the specific needs of the communities in which they are located. In Milan, Pescara and Naples, they are managed directly by us, while in Bologna we collaborate with CADIAI, in Cosenza with Mo.C.I. and in Rome with Be Free. While adapting to local contexts, all the spaces maintain a common identity and share the same objectives of welcoming, supporting and empowering women.
Each space reaches an average of 120 women per year. Profiles vary from city to city, but most are between 30 and 55 years old and more than half do not have a stable job, making the support offered even more important.
A multidisciplinary team of anti-violence workers, psychologists, educators and pedagogues, supported by lawyers, health experts, employment consultants, trade unionists, IT specialists and Italian teachers, contributes to ensuring quality services. Thanks to this variety of skills, the Women's Spaces can respond to a wide range of needs, offering practical, educational, psychological and legal support.
We welcome women who have experienced or are experiencing situations of violence, often not physical, but economic or psychological, abuse that limits freedom and autonomy and that too often goes unnoticed. In our listening and personal growth programmes, we respect each woman's pace and, when risky situations arise, we activate the network of local services, such as anti-violence centres, to ensure protection and support towards autonomy.
