Africa North-West
For over 40 years, we have been supporting communities in North-West Africa, providing access to basic services and responding to people's real needs.
In North-West Africa, as in all the areas where we operate, we stand alongside people, from the margins to the centre. We bring help where it is needed and, day after day, we build paths to development that can last over time.
We operate in Benin, Burkina Faso, Mali, Tunisia, Libya and Niger (in the latter, we do not currently have any active projects), where protracted crises, instability and insecurity go beyond individual borders, which is why our approach does the same, for example in the Sahel region. We support those who cross these borders in search of better living conditions and those who are forced to move within them. Our commitment in the region focuses on ensuring food security and access to livelihood opportunities for people who have less access to food and stable sources of income. We do this by working on access to vocational training courses tailored to the labour market in the different areas where we operate, and then supporting people's entry into the world of work through the distribution of starter kits, coaching sessions and scholarships.
In addition to the training we offer young people,in Benin, we are continuing our Long Distance Sponsorship programme to ensure safe, quality education for boys and girls.
