Exponi le tue idee!
“Exponi le tue idee!” is an educational competition that introduces debate into secondary schools across Italy, giving students the opportunity to learn how to engage in constructive discussions, listen actively, and build well-reasoned arguments.
Each year, classes form teams to debate highly relevant topics—such as human rights, gender equality, social and environmental justice, inclusion, and participation—drawing inspiration from the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
Through debate, students learn to express themselves respectfully, to support their opinions with solid, well-documented arguments and to develop transferable skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, effective communication and active citizenship.
Exponi le tue Idee! is part of our commitment to contributing to active and global citizenship education. The editions may vary from year to year, also involving universities and challenging other teams in EU countries!
The Teams
Students in their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years of secondary school are eligible to participate.
Each team consists of six students, who may come from the same class or from different classes within the same school: three speakers and three who listen and critically evaluate.
Participation is possible both within the curriculum and as an extracurricular activity. Each school can register 2, 4, or 8 teams. For different arrangements, please contact us at info@weworld.it.
The stages
The project is divided into several stages:
- School stage: takes place within each school between October and January. Teams compete based on their speaking and debating skills.
- Regional or territorial stage: the winning teams from each school qualify for the regional play-offs between March and April.
- National Debate Day: finalist teams from all over Italy meet in June for a day of debates, discussions and a celebration of ideas.
