Claiming Space. Atlas on Women’s and Girls’ Rights

Claiming Space, our third Atlas, shows how women and girls around the world are claiming their spaces and shaping their own futures.

Thirty years after the 1995 Beijing Conference, inequalities, violence, and cultural barriers persist, but the Atlas also highlights concrete solutions: programmes, interventions, and practices that transform lives and communities.

Through data, maps, stories, and testimonies from women, girls, and WeWorld staff, it provides a realistic picture of the challenges faced and the strategies that work to promote equity and rights.

Organised around WeWorld’s 2024–2030 Global Gender and Protection Strategic Plan, the Atlas focuses on four key areas: promoting equity and agency, combating gender-based violence, safeguarding health and well-being, and amplifying women’s voices.

Claiming Space demonstrates how women’s action is transforming communities and societies, creating real and lasting change.
