The WeWorld Festival is the format through which we create a space for citizens to meet, reflect, and discuss human rights, gender equality, and social and environmental justice.
Drawing on the organisation’s years of experience in documenting inequalities and struggles for rights, the WeWorld Festival uses different forms of expression — from cinema to talks, from performing arts to photography — to foster awareness, empathy, and active participation.

Each edition focuses on people and their stories, highlighting first-hand accounts and creating opportunities for dialogue between activism, culture, journalism, art, and civil society. Over time, the festival has established itself as a platform to showcase our work in Italy and around the world, as well as a collective space to reflect on the major challenges of our time: from gender inequality to conflict, from the climate crisis to bodily autonomy and freedom of choice.

Today, the WeWorld Festival consists of two main events: one in Bologna in the autumn and one in Milan in the spring. Each has its own identity, yet both share the same vision: bringing stories that deserve to be heard from the margins to the centre.
