The torrential rains of June 3rd caused many streams and rivers to overflow, resulting in widespread flooding over the country, accompanied by rockslides and landslides. The areas most affected by the floods are the Ouest and Sud-Est departments. Moreover, on June 6th, a 5.5 magnitude earthquake hit the Grand’Anse department in the south-west – which had already been severely affected by the earthquake of August 2021.
