We have been a member of ChildFund Alliance, an international network committed to upholding the rights of children and adolescents worldwide, since 2021. We are the twelfth member of the alliance and the first one based in Italy: an important step that allows us to strengthen the impact of our work in the world.

ChildFund Alliance is a network of independent organisations operating globally with a common goal: to tackle poverty, eliminate all forms of violence, exploitation and discrimination, and create the conditions for every child to develop their full potential.

For us at WeWorld, joining ChildFund Alliance was a natural and strategic step in our journey, which began with our merger with GVC in 2018.

We firmly believe that, in a global context marked by multiple and interconnected crises, collaboration is essential. Being part of an international alliance allows us to amplify the impact of our interventions, strengthen dialogue with institutions and contribute to change with people, from the margins to the centre.

Our collaboration with ChildFund Alliance is based on shared values: the centrality of human rights, attention to the most vulnerable people, active community participation and the empowerment of children and adolescents. We bring our experience gained over decades of work in complex contexts, in areas such as education, protection, food security, health and gender equality. At the same time, we benefit from continuous exchange with other members, strengthening approaches, methodologies and intervention capacities.

A key product of this alliance is the ChildFund Alliance World Index: a report that measures the living conditions of women and children and the level of implementation of their human rights around the world.

Launched in 2015 as the WeWorld Index, it is now a tool shared by the entire alliance. Through this report — which combines data analysis, research and advocacy — we gather information, explore inequalities and promote concrete actions to raise public awareness and guide policy, placing the rights and future of the next generation at the centre.
