Integrated response to promote the protection and resilience of returnees in Burundi
Go to projectWe help local communities to manage the local effects of climate change, intervening on territorial planning and on improving risk management. We work to prevent environmental catastrophes and to promote the use of renewable resources and energy autonomy.
Where populations are particularly vulnerable to climate change, we use the most advanced techniques to strengthen communities' capacity to manage hydrological threats and risks.
We support community resilience to climate change through an integrated approach that increases agricultural production and participatory processes for local adaptation plans.
The reduction in environmental impact and the promotion of sustainability is transversal to all our interventions and a fundamental point is also our work of raising awareness, which we carry out in Italy and in Europe with the youngest generations.
Integrated response to promote the protection and resilience of returnees in Burundi
Go to projectThe project aims to promote the autonomy of 480 young indigenous women from 30 ethnicities across 31 municipalities in Ceará, Bahia, Pernambuco and Alagoas brazilian states. With a focus on feminist economics, agroecology and addressing gender inequalities, the project conducts training sessions, research and creates a support network to strengthen ethno-development and ensure the sustainability of its actions.
Go to projectThe Project is currently being implemented in municipalities of the semi-arid region of Ceará which face severe desertification. The initiative aims to promote food and water security through Agroforestry Systems irrigated with brackish water and training in agroecological practices. The project seeks to increase agricultural productivity and family income while strengthening the climate resilience of communities. The actions include drilling artesian wells and environmental restoration, focusing on sustainability and conservation of the Caatinga biome.
