The research “The ‘P’ in Practice. Field evidence on operationalising conflict sensitivity, WPS and YPS across the HDP Nexus” examines how WeWorld concretely integrates the Peace dimension within the Humanitarian–Development–Peace (HDP) Nexus. The study shows that conflict sensitivity is a key element throughout all phases of the project cycle, helping to reduce risks, strengthen trust, and promote the non-violent management of tensions.

The study also explores the application of the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) and Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) Agendas, highlighting the crucial role of women and young people in conflict prevention, inclusive governance, and social cohesion. Integrating these approaches is essential to addressing inequalities and promoting a more balanced distribution of power.

By analysing six contexts — Benin, Lebanon, the Swahili Coast, Mozambique, Ukraine and Italy — the study provides an overview of operational practices, challenges, and community perceptions. It offers a critical, evidence-based understanding of conflict sensitivity and social cohesion, supporting more effective and context-appropriate interventions.

The publication also presents gender-transformative and intergenerational strategies, recognising the central contribution of women, young people, girls, and boys in building relationships and trust within communities.
