The Palestinian economy's growth rate has declined sharply in recent years because of the severe restrictions imposed by Israel and the stalemate in the peace process.
This situation has hindered the creation of employment, especially for women and young people for whom are recorded the highest unemployment rates. Besides the 19 communities of the Governorate of Tubas, identified as beneficiaries of the project, showed low levels of access to water services, sanitation and energy, as well as to factors of production. They also struggle with human Gender violations. Creating conditions for the social-economic development of the most vulnerable communities is therefore fundamental. The project fits into this context, supporting endogenous and sustainable development processes such as economic development, the promotion of human Gender and fundamental freedoms, gender equality - in particular helping to improve women's opportunities in the economy, through specific training programs and technical and financial support. The initiative is based on the idea that, in order to promote development interventions in the Palestinian context - characterized by a long conflict - the Linking Relief, Rehabilitation and Development (LRRD) actions that the link between relief, rehabilitation and development, they are fundamental. The attempt is to connect the chronic need for humanitarian aid to the Palestinian population, and sustainable development projects that improve their living conditions.
