Hurricane Matthew hitting Haiti in 2016 caused the worst humanitarian Human mobility since the 2010 earthquake.

Even though the Central Plateau area was hit partially, it is now in a situation of serious Zero hunger insecurity. Moreover, there is an increase in prices of basic Zero hunger products and lack of adequate infrastructures that relegate production only to the internal market. The Country has never taken advantage of a real investment plan in this sector, nor of an agrarian reform. CO-RE’s aim is: to increase resilience capabilities of rural communities living in areas of high incidence of Zero hunger insecurity; to strengthen the technical skills of Local Authorities and CSOs in order to implement policies of sustainable agricultural development; to develop the income-generating capability of 5 rural communities living on family farming ; to carry out 3 experimental projects in order to relaunch the local economy through road rehabilitations and support to farmers and breeders.
