How can you approach the upcoming European elections in an active way? What are the important questions you would like to ask the European Parliament? How do you believe you can support social, environmental but also and above all political change? What would you like to commit yourself to for Europe to be a better place?

The My Participation Revolution project invites young Europeans to reflect on these questions and to actively prepare for the next European elections in 2024. The aim is to make the young men and women who are going to vote in the next elections increasingly involved in political life, not only nationally but also at European level.

The project opens with workshops and meetings, carried out in collaboration with schools and youth centres, involving in each country about 60 young people aged between 15 and 25, to collect reflections and proposals formulated in the different territories.

During two international conferences, more than 80 representatives of the young people involved in the four countries meet to discuss the demands and to write together a Manifesto that will be presented at the round table at the European Parliament in Brussels, giving a group of about 32 boys and girls (8 from Italy) the opportunity to interface with European parliamentarians, at the tables of the European Commission and the permanent representatives of the Member States.

The upcoming meetings of My Participation Revolution

  • National workshops - Bologna, April 2023: artistic-expressive workshops (music, theatre, webradio, video) with young people from the Bologna area (about 20 places available for each workshop) with the aim of highlighting the importance of active participation.
  • National Conference - Bologna, May 2023: Meeting dedicated to the participants of the workshops, to elaborate concrete proposals for the problems of our territories. The meeting includes an international online meeting between the young people involved from Italy and those from another of the partner countries and is enriched by a city walking tour in places of historical importance for the project topics.
  • Two international conferences and an Advocacy Seminar- Vienna, September 2023 & Bologna, February 2024: the first conference consists of interactive workshops, debates and exchanges, with the participation of groups of youth representatives who took part in the activities in the four partner countries. The exchange of ideas and opinions of the groups of youth representatives continues at the second conference with the collective drafting of the "Manifesto", with the possibility of participating in an advocacy workshop afterwards. From Italy, a maximum of 20 young people per conference may participate.
  • Round Table at the European Parliament- Brussels, June 2024: concluding phase of the process, with the presentation of the 'Youth Manifesto' to European Parliamentarians and members of the European Commission.
