Children and families across Ukraine are fleeing or hiding after Russia attacked the country from three sides in early February 24.

This invasion is the latest in an ongoing conflict that has killed thousands since 2014. It estimated that a large-scale attack like this could cost another 50,000 lives and displace up to 5 million people.

WeWorld is certified by ECHO (European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations) to operate in emergency contexts, thanks to its long experience and its consistent and transformative methodological approach.

We are present in Ukraine thanks to our partner ChildFund Germany who has been working in the country since 2004. We immediately took action to deal with the emergency, providing humanitarian aid to children and their families. Furthermore, our intervention is placed in Moldova as well, in the area of the municipality of Palanca. It is one of the hottest borders in the southern front of the war, and it is becoming a place of welcome for families, elderly, and children.

Ukrainian citizens who have arrived in Italy can count on us too. Starting from the cities of Milan and Bologna, where a structured collaboration with municipal administrations already exists, we will organise a program to host families as part of the Spazio Donna project. 7 centers in 6 Italian cities where we welcome women victims of war and violence, accompanying them in paths of empowerment and reconstruction of social ties.

But that's not enough: people who need help are increasing day by day; we count on you to help to keep children safe.

We cannot leave them alone.
